Schemata Architecture Office
Born in Osaka in 1971, Jo graduated from The Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music department of Architecture in 1998. In the same year he set up Studio Schemer which moved to premises in Meguro in 2007 and established a collaborative office, 'Happa'.
He aims to produce work that is simple in principle and expressed through new and ingenious methods.
Flat Table 'raftered'
Inspired by the art pieces made for the Flat Project which transformed old antique pieces of furniture, Jo has created the 'raftered' table for the CIBONE COLLECTION. Epoxy resin has been poured on to a simple base of uneven pieces of wood usually used for making rafters.
Flat Project - originally the tables used in this series had perfectly flat surfaces but over time they deteriorated leaving uneven, imperfect surfaces which Jo tried to correct using translucent coloured epoxy resin. Each imperfection is transformed by the epoxy, the deeper holes and uneven spots have a greater build up of epoxy and so stronger colour and the shallows are nearly transparent.

In 2003, Clare Page and Harry Richardson established the creative team, Committee, in London. They work in many mediums, creating furniture, lighting, textiles and art works. In 2004 they started one of their definitive works to date, their series of Kebab lamps. One of their main aims is to imbue their design practice with their fine art education, by making pieces that are both beautiful and functional, yet contain a level of critical debate. A strong theme in their work is the re-use of quotidian objects to make assemblages that offer a new perspective on the material world around us.Recent projects include the reworking of existing pieces from the famous Spanish Porcelain Company, Lladro, and 'Plastic Fandangos' for London based gallerists, Arts Co, a collection of desk-top follies on the subject of plastic in product design.
Plastic Relics
Being fond of using devices of the imagination to aid their search for original work, Committee chose to place themselves in a future age, (perhaps even a post-apocalyptic one), when oil has run out and the material world is no longer as we know it. The left over plastic items, which today we take for granted, might well be a source of fascination and archaeological interest or even of great value. This approach prompted Committee to select examples of plastic parts that could possibly come to represent the 'relics' of this age and imagined them as strange curios that might even prompt a craftsman of the time to utilise them in a far more precious way than the one they were intended for. Committee's instinct was to suggest they might be re-used as decorative lids for a series of humble tabletop containers, since this would show them off adequately to a curious 27th century viewer. In juxtaposition to these mass-produced curios, the lower half of the boxes have been fashioned from traditionally produced Japanese lacquer-ware. These swerving black plinths, which are exact extrusions of the lid profile, can be read as the shadow of the item cast through time, right back to their deep past from lakes of black oil.

Founded and run by Stéphane Arriubergé and Massimiliano Iorio, Moustache's aim is to bring together a group of like-minded designers to nurture the development of innovative and honest furnishings that will stand the test of time
Rather than artificially developing the principle of novelty at any price, the products produced by Moustache will attempt to take advantage of passing time and to give them a little of the heritage value that furniture and objects held in the past. The collection will try to anticipate and project the solutions for our scenarios for future life.
