岐阜県多治見を拠点に制作を行う陶芸家、林志保の個展を開催します。

近年の林志保は、自然石の輪郭や表情をトレースすることによって、
曲線や陰影が内包する、繰り返される命の循環や痕跡を作品に写し取ってきました。
そこに現れる輪郭は、単なる形状の意ではなく、一つの存在が世界に触れる最小単位と捉えることができます。

それらは、これまで彼女の肉体を通して記されてきたカタチであり、作品を生み出してきた自身の生の実感と時間を手がかりに、林は今、あらためて新たな輪郭と存在を、その手のみで立ち上げて作品制作を行っています。
何か存在証明の一つの延長上の仕事のような、自身の生きる空間のすぐ傍にある循環の一部であることに気づくための行為であり、その行為そのものが、静かな包容の力を生み出しているように感じられます。

現代において、人やものの本質に触れることは、容易ではありません。
だからこそ、自然に寄り添うような言葉や行為が安易に歓迎されます。

そんな中、自然から人の手へと引き受けてものを作る決断には、勇気が求められます。
しかし、その選択によって作品はより血の通った意志を持ち、これまで曖昧だった存在の輪郭が、少しずつ立ち上がってくるのです。

林志保の作品に現れる輪郭は、この世界と静かに触れ続けるための、ひとつの手がかりのように存在します。

それぞれの時間や感覚に寄り添いながら、確かに「ここに在る」という実感を、そっと支えていくでしょう。

We are pleased to present a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Shiho Hayashi, based in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture.

In recent years, Shiho Hayashi has traced the contours and expressions of natural stones,
capturing within her work the recurring cycles and traces of life embodied in curves and shadows.
The contours that emerge are not merely shapes; they can be seen as the smallest units through which an existence touches the world.

These are forms previously inscribed through her own body. Guided by her visceral sense of life and the time spent creating, Hayashi now builds new contours and existences solely by hand.
It feels like an extension of proving one's existence—an act to recognize being part of the cycle right beside her living space. This very act seems to generate a quiet, embracing power.

In the modern age, touching the essence of people and things is not easy.
That is precisely why words that lean toward nature are sought.

Within this context, the decision to take on the task of creating something from nature, entrusted to human hands, requires courage.
Yet, through this choice, the work gains a more vital will, and the previously ambiguous contours of its existence gradually begin to emerge.

The contours appearing in Shiho Hayashi's work exist like a clue for quietly continuing to touch this world.

While staying close to each moment and sensation, they will gently support the tangible feeling of “being here.”
