陶芸家・小野象平の個展を開催いたします。
自ら山に入り原土を採取し、灰釉をつくり、焼成を重ねる。素材に遡るほどに、自然がもたらす声は微細になり、そこに潜む可能性は大きくなる。
小野はその「彼方」を引き出すため、うつわを表現するという便宜的な枠組みに収まらない手法と強い意思をもって、土と火に向き合い続けています。
こうしたプリミティブな工程とも言える程から生まれる小野のうつわは、純度の高い、実直な佇まいを持ちながらも、手に取る者の想像を拒みません。
使い手は自由に、そのうつわが持つ気配や余白に思いを重ねることができます。
本展においても、新たに製作しているある昆虫生物の持つテクスチャから着想を得た白銀のうつわを初めとして、限界を超えて土に圧を加え、焚き続けることによって土の中から噴き出す小野「土味」への欲求は止まることを知りません。

また、本展ではうつわそのものの魅力に、もう一つの新しい視点が添えられます。
小野の古くからの友人であり、近年は彼のうつわを撮り続けている音楽家・菅原一樹。
彼が小野の作品表面のテクスチャを“顕微鏡で覗く”ように読み取り、そこから導き出した音が空間に響きます。
異なるフィールドで創作を続け、互いに影響を与え合う二人だからこそ、タイトルである「Borderless」は確かな説得力を持ち、うつわの表現をさらに先へ押し広げます。 小野が生み出すうつわ一つ一つには、土が奏でる物語があります。

うつわという機能を超え、触れる人の内側に静かに届く“器奏”を、ぜひ会場でご体感ください。

We are pleased to present a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Shohei Ono.
He ventures into the mountains to gather raw clay, crafts ash glazes, and repeatedly fires his pieces.
The deeper he traces back to the material, the more subtle the voice of nature becomes, and the greater the potential that lies within.
To draw out this “beyond,” Ono confronts clay and fire with techniques that transcend the conventional framework of vessel-making and with unwavering resolve.
Emerging from processes that could be called primal, Ono's vessels possess a pure, honest presence while never resisting the viewer's imagination.
Users are free to layer their own thoughts upon the vessel's aura and its empty spaces.
In this exhibition, Ono's relentless pursuit of his signature “earthen essence”—achieved by pushing clay beyond its limits through intense pressure and prolonged firing—is evident. This is seen in pieces like a new silver-white vessel inspired by the texture of certain insect lifeforms.

Moreover, this exhibition adds another fresh perspective to the vessels' inherent charm. Kazuki Sugawara, a longtime friend of Ono's and a musician who has been photographing his vessels in recent years, interprets the textures on Ono's work surfaces as if viewed through a microscope.
The sounds he derives from this interpretation resonate throughout the space. Because these two creators, working in different fields yet mutually influencing each other, the title “Borderless” carries undeniable conviction, pushing the expression of the vessels further.
Each vessel Ono creates holds a story played by the clay.
