2022年より、まだ知られていないヴィンテージグラスの魅力を伝えるMa To MonoのPOP UPを開催いたします。

CIBONE表参道店内にスペースを構えるmini martでも商品を展開している、アメ村に構えるステキな家具屋、CopyArt Collective のキュレーションにより、100年もの歴史を遡り、ムラーノガラスの持つその技術と多くのアーティストによって生まれた繊細で貴重なガラス作品が並びます。

Ma To Mono、CopyArt Collective、CIBONEの”モノ好き”な3者が惚れ込んだ、世にも美しいガラスたちをお楽しみください。

昔正直僕はムラーノガラスのイメージが良くなかった。ゴージャスで、煌びやか、自分の生活から程遠いと感じてた。

そんな中あるきっかけで手に入れたVeniniのガラス、写真では知っていたそのガラスの実物は、カッコよくモダンで、ガラスが手を離れた後も胸に訴える感覚があった。その時抱いたの経験を広げたくて、人に尋ね、いくつか店を訪ねたが、そこで得たのは僕が抱いたイメージと乖離があったのをはっきり覚えてる。

"ガラスを取り寄せる事はできても、それを気軽に知る機会が少なすぎる"

そう思い、まずはオンラインストアからと始めたのが始まり。今の時代検索すれば簡単に画像が出てきて、親切にざっと情報もAIがまとめてくれてる。溢れる情報から、知った気になってしまうけど、もう一度立ち止まって、手にとって自分で感じて、初めて知れるものだと思う。そして人が作ったものを手で感じる、そういったプロセスが大事だと思う。

1920年代から急速に変化していったムラーノガラス。僕は初めて手に取った時、今までのものの見え方が変わるほどの衝撃があった、誰かもきっとそうだ。その気持ちを引っさげて、今回ヴィンテージガラスを展示販売します。

We have been hosting POP UP events for Ma To Mono, a brand dedicated to sharing the hidden beauty of vintage glassware since 2022.


Curated by CopyArt Collective, a wonderful furniture shop based in Amerika-mura that also offers their products at mini-mart inside CIBONE, this collection spans over a hundred years of history. It showcases delicate and precious glass pieces born from the refined techniques of Murano glassmakers and the creativity of countless artists.

Ma To Mono, CopyArt Collective, and CIBONE – three teams of true “mono-zuki” (object lovers) – invite you to experience these breathtakingly beautiful glassworks that have captured our hearts.

To be honest, I didn’t have a good image of Murano glass in the past. I thought it was gorgeous and glamorous, but felt far removed from my own life.

Then one day, by chance, I acquired a Venini glass piece. I had seen photos of it before, but seeing it in person was different – it felt cool and modern, and it resonated with me deeply even after I set it down. I wanted to share that experience with others, so I asked around and visited a few shops, but I clearly remember that what I found there felt disconnected from what I had felt.

"We can order glass pieces, but there are so few opportunities to casually encounter them."

That’s what I thought, so I decided to start with an online store. These days, you can easily find images through a quick search, and AI will kindly summarise the basic information for you. It’s easy to feel like you “know” something from the flood of information, but I believe that you only truly know it once you pause, pick it up with your own hands, and feel it for yourself. Feeling the things that people have made with their hands – that process is important.

Murano glass underwent rapid changes starting in the 1920s. When I first held a piece in my hands, it struck me so deeply that it changed the way I saw everything. I believe others will feel the same. With that feeling in mind, we are proud to present this exhibition and sale of vintage glassware.
