日常の中ではあえて言葉にしないような身近な出来事を、思い起こしながら大切な人に便りを綴る。
一本の枝、一枚の羽根が、どのようにして此処に辿りついたのかを想像し、誰かのもとに届くまでを創作活動の一連とする彼の作品には、そんな時間が流れているように感じます。

拠点を置くのどかな山間地域の風景は、穏やかに見えて絶え間ない無数の営みで満ちています。
その時々にしか感じ取ることのできない些細な変化は、自身の制作を「身近な風景から調和について考察する過程」と語る彼にとって、連綿と続く自然の循環を知るための確かな依拠となっています。
その循環に逆らうことなく丁寧に収集された素材は、手を入れすぎることなく整えられ、支点を見極めてバランスを保ち、人と自然とが呼吸を合わせるようにして心地よいリズムを刻みます。

昨年「Phenology(季節学)」というテーマで初個展を開催してから、季節が一巡する中で出会った新たな素材や視点もまた、暮らしの中で見過ごさずに積み重ねてきた日々の軌跡です。
ありのままの眼差しから生まれたものだからこそ、時間や距離を超えて、見る人の記憶や感性に響き、共感へと繋がるのかもしれません。

それぞれの作品に込められた物語に触れ、そこから広がる情景をお楽しみください。

建築設計に従事した後、2015年に埼玉県飯能市の中山間地にSaturday Factoryを設立。
林業や町工場が盛んな地域の特性を活かし、特注家具や什器などの企画・製作を行う。
リズム・バランス・調和を手掛かりに制作を行うモビールのコレクション「Arietta Mobiles」は、身近な風土から生み出
される素材や自然の循環を日々考察し、関連し合うものの相互バランスを考え直す試みを続けている。

In daily life, we often leave unspoken the small, intimate moments that surround us.
His work is a creative activity that involves imagining how a single branch or feather came to be here, and then imagining where they will end up.

The serene mountain landscapes where he is based may appear calm at first glance, yet they are teeming with countless, ceaseless activities.
Subtle changes, perceptible only in fleeting moments, serve as a steady reference for him as he describes his practice as “a process of reflecting on harmony through familiar landscapes,” allowing him to understand the enduring cycles of nature.

Materials, carefully collected without disturbing their essence, are arranged with restraint.
Points of balance are chosen with precision, and rhythms emerge that harmonize human presence with the natural world, creating a quietly comforting rhythms.

Since his first solo exhibition in 2022 under the theme Phenology, the new materials and perspectives he has encountered throughout the changing seasons have likewise been traces of daily life, accumulated without overlooking the ordinary.
Because his work emerges from an authentic gaze, it can transcend time and distance, touching viewers’ memories and sensibilities, and fostering a shared sense of connection.

Satoshi Odagiri
After working in architectural design, he founded Saturday Factory in 2015 in the mountainous area of Hannō, Saitama. Drawing on the region’s strong traditions of forestry and local manufacturing, the studio produces custom furniture and fixtures.

Since then, he has expanded his practice with the collection Arietta Mobiles, works created through a focus on rhythm, balance, and harmony.

Using materials shaped by the local landscape and its natural cycles, the mobiles explore how different elements can coexist in equilibrium, offering a quiet reflection on the relationship between people and nature.
