日常の中で、控えめながらも、確かにその機能性と美の同居を寛容させることとなる永木 卓のガラスのうつわ。
手に軽く、用途を限定しない理想形がそこにはあり、緻密に計算された輪郭線の一本一本はまさにデザインされている、と感じる一方、そこに控えめながらも残る手跡やゆらぎから、ガラスという素材の美しさをよく理解り、引き立てる優しさとそのわざを惜しみなく献上した賜物であるのでしょう。

彼の作る作品は本来とても静かなもの。

前回の個展から、わたしたちは特別な色の制作を依頼しています。前回はピンク色、そして今回は彼の今まで制作した中でも1番透過度の低いであろう黒。我々がこの色を選んだ理由は、どうにか、静かな永木卓の作品の中に秘めた強さ、のようなものを見てみたかったからです。黒を纏った作品は、本来のシャープな輪郭線はすこしあいまいになり、よりそのフォルムが強調されます。少し大人びていて艶やか、モダンでもありノスタルジーも感じさせる。受け手の持つ感情幅をより刺激する作品となったのではないでしょうか。

この黒の作品を通して、みなさまと永木卓のガラスとの新たな出会いが起こることを楽しみにしております。

Taku Eiki's glass vessels are modest, but certainly tolerate the cohabitation of functionality and beauty in everyday life.
The ideal form that is light in the hand and not limited in use is there, and each of the precisely calculated contours feels like it is designed. His works are essentially very quiet.

His works are by nature very quiet.

Since his last exhibition, we have asked him to create special colors. Last time it was pink, and this time it was black, which is probably the least transparent color he has ever produced. We chose this color because we wanted to somehow see the strength hidden in the quiet works of Taku Eiki. The sharp contours of the work in black become a little fuzzy, and the form is emphasized more. It is a little mature and glossy, modern and nostalgic at the same time. I believe that this work stimulates the emotional range of the viewer.

We look forward to your new encounters with Taku Eiki's glass through this black work.
