古くから人は、季節の時間軸に沿って生み出されるリズムの中で暮らしを紡ぎ、その時その時に感じられる小さな変化を捉えながら愉しみを得てきました。移りゆく季節の中で、自然界の動植物に気候がもたらす影響を研究する「季節学=Phenology」は、眼に見えるものばかりではなく、身の回りを丁寧に観察することで感性そのものに深く作用します。

今回の展示では3章にわたり、Phenologyを編集した企画展を開催いたします。

その季節が訪れると、土に触れ緑を育てたり、花に気持ちをのせて贈ったり、風土から得られる素材を使ってものをつくるといった人の営みもまた、循環の一部であり、日常の習慣のなかに生きる私たちに、新たな眼差しを向けるきっかけを与えてくれるでしょう。

最終章は、埼玉県飯能市の中山間地にスタジオを構える「Crafted Mobile」の初個展を開催いたします。
リズム・バランス・調和を手掛かりに、その土地が持つ素材から見えてくるものや関係性を創作の種とし、植物が次の季節を迎える過程で得られる枝葉や実、換羽期に鳥が落としていった羽根などを使って自然のサイクルに委ねたものづくりを行っています。風にそよぐモビールが生み出す心地よい情景をお楽しみください。

The rhythm of life has long been woven along the seasonal axis, with people deriving enjoyment from capturing the subtle changes felt in each moment. Phenology, the study of how climate affects the behavior of flora and fauna, within the shifting seasons, not only encompasses what is visible but also deeply affects our sensibilities through careful observation of our surroundings.

In this exhibition, we will present a curated exhibition that explores Phenology through three chapters.

As each season arrives, human activities such as touching the soil to nurture greenery, expressing emotions through flowers, and crafting items using materials sourced from the local environment are all part of the cycle. These activities prompt us, who live within the routines of daily life, to adopt a fresh perspective on our surroundings.

Final Chapter is the first solo exhibition by "Crafted Mobile," a studio based in the mountainous region of Hanno, Saitama Prefecture.Guided by the principles of rhythm, balance, and harmony, "Crafted Mobile" finds inspiration in the materials and relationships inherent to the land. The studio creates art pieces using branches, leaves, and fruits gathered during the changing seasons, as well as feathers shed by birds during their molting period. These natural materials are incorporated into their work, reflecting the natural cycle and beauty of nature's transitions.

Enjoy the soothing scenery created by the gently swaying mobiles, capturing the essence of nature's rhythm and harmony.
